I have featured similar in the past, but these vintage-style cycling tops by 3M Caverni have affordability as a selling point.
From what I can find out, the company has a long history of making these tops. 3M Caverni was and is based in Florence and unlike many makers who packed up when the professional cycling industry shifted to lycra, 3M Caverni carried on.
So when the current trend for retro and vintage cycling clothing came to the fore, the company was well placed to be part of it.
Not only that, because it still had the machinery, 3M Caverni could produce classic designs for a reasonable price. Which is what we are looking at here.
Most of the tops are vintage designs, but fairly generic and as such, adaptable as either vintage cycling wear or casual wear. But if you want national jerseys or more specific team jerseys from the past, they have some of those too – although they are a little more pricey.
I have picked out a few examples here to give you an idea of what 3M Caverni produces. Working down the page, the red, white and blue with zip collar is €44, the green and white with tipping is also €44, the yellow with button collar is €55, the light blue and white with zip collar is €44, the green and red top is €49.50 and the beige with stripes is €55.
I believe the shirts are a wool and acrylic mix (but do check) and are available at the maker’s eBay site.
You can browse all of the currently available designs at the 3M Caverni eBay website.
