Not quite the weather for it yet, but this budget Seersucker Parka at Uniqlo offers an ivy league look for not much cash.
And it will be useful when the warmer weather comes. Ok, that might seem like a long time off right now. But we are already in February, so a couple of months and this will come into its own. But by then, I suspect most of the popular sizes will have sold through.
This is pure ivy league. And if I told you it was being made by Beams Plus for well upwards of £100, you might well believe me. It’s the kind of design the Japanese label would probably produce. But no. This is high street and specifically, Uniqlo and budget.
Described as a ‘light outer layer’, it’s the kind of thing you might slip on when the temperatures drop on a summer’s evening. Or a spring jacket when the icy mornings die away.
It’s made of a textured seersucker fabric, with a relaxed fit, dropped shoulders and a ‘boxy’ cut, with flap side pockets, a zip front, elasticated cuffs and a drawstring hood. It works on every level.
But there’s one level that it works on more than any other, which is the price. You can pick this up for a bargain £39.90. You can see why I said it will sell out when it’s priced similarly to a sweater to shirt.
Just in stock now if you want one.

Note that there us a plain cotton version too but it doesn’t quite work like the seersucker take.
