A mix of the classic and the modern (in a good way) with this Vale half-zip jacket by Universal Works. Now in the sale too.
Classic because it looks very much like a typical bomber jacket with tipping. Yes, very much like a Fred Perry tennis bomber jacket if you like. But at the same time, not like it at all, if you like.
That’s the thing. It hints at a classic jacket, but this is very much a jacket of the modern day.
It has been made by the Korean mill Seogin, which is a specialist in super lightweight, water-resistant and recycled fibres. And this jacket ticks all three of those boxes. This is a quality piece.
So rather than just being a cotton jacket, it adds an extra layer of sophistication but keeps a vintage look with the stripe to the neck, cuff and hem. Note also the half zip, which gives the look of a training top rather than a jacket.
There are two colours available. The one most likely to appeal will be the ‘sand’ version, which is the one I have mainly picked out here. But if you look at the last photo, you will notice that there is an orange version too, which might be a bit ‘much’ for some people. But that’s down to personal taste.
Whatever you go for, it is available in a full range of sizes that originally sold for £175, but is now down to £125.
