Go retro with the Stargazer space-age watch

Not some kind of vintage find or reissue. Amazingly, the Stargazer space-age watch is a modern-day design.

But it’s also a watch that’s unashamedly retro. This is a 1970s watch design in the 21st century. The look but without the hefty vintage/collector’s price tag. Not that it’s a cheap watch. But it’s not a massively pricey one, either.

Of course, you could opt for something similar that’s a reissue of an original. Perhaps something like the Hamilton PSR or the Bulova Computron, for example. But this is just as appealing – and less expensive than those two.

That wonderful 1970s design is a big part of the appeal. Pretty much all of it, in fact. Let’s be honest: not many people are buying watches to tell the time these days. A glance at your phone or computer screen tells you that. It’s more the case of being seen with something like this on your wrist. Watches are functional jewellery, and this catches the eye more than most.

Especially if you go for the stainless steel finish. There are colours, too, but for authenticity, the steel one is where it’s at. Within the steel case is a classic electronic digital quartz movement, with a strap matching the casing of the watch. Bold and simple in equal measure.
