Is this the coolest top out there? I think Adidas Colombia 24 anniversary football shirt is certainly up there.

But finding one is the hard bit, as initially, Adidas’ stock has sold through, and I suspect it will be a similar case when it hits more general retailers in the coming days. Everyone seems to want one – and for good reason.

Of course, if you happen to be from Colombia, there’s obviously more reason to get one than most. It’s a national shirt, one that will be worn this week to celebrate the national tram’s 100th anniversary. And if you are going to produce a limited-edition anniversary shirt, make it as cool as this one.

Based on a design from the 1940s, it actually looks more like some kind of hip offering from the 1960s – and the old-school Adidas Trefoil and lack of advertising certainly helps with that.

I love the minimal detailing, with the club badge and Adidas logo fairly muted, giving all the focus on the stripes across the body. But that’s not all – I love the subtle/slim trim to the crew neck and sleeves too, as well as the anniversary badge on the inside.

Fancy one? I know I do, but getting one seems quite hard. As I said, it looks like initial stock has sold out at Adidas, but there might well be stock arriving at Pro Direct Soccer, which already has the matching Beckenbauer tracksuit. Expect to pay around £80 for one.
