Not that the price surprises me. I spend enough time looking at clothing to know that a premium suede jacket isn’t going to be far shy of a grand. There are cheaper options out there if you like the idea of a suede jacket. But none quite look like this one.

Its look is bomber jacket meets Harrington jacket, which isn’t a bad meeting place at all. Very much classic ivy league territory. Like a lot of Ralph Lauren designs, in truth.

Made of goat suede, it has a rib-knit baseball collar, full-zip front, rib-knit cuffs, ventilating metal grommets on the underarms, two front waist snapped pockets, leather-reinforced signature snaps, an interior left chest pocket, full lining, and a signature tonal embroidered Pony on the left chest. You’ll have to look hard to see the latter.
It is timeless in look and will look good for many years to come if you look after it. I should hope so, too, as the price to pick one up is £945.
