We had a leather version of these on the shelves a couple of months back. But now there are the Adidas Samba 62 trainers in green suede.
The leather ones are still available if you want a pair in white or black leather, which have more of an old-school football boot look. But this new version has only just appeared.
Winter turns to spring and (hopefully) drier weather, which means suede starts to feel a bit more practical. And some people just prefer suede trainers to leather. If that’s you, read on.
The look is still the same, a tribute to the early days of the classic Adidas Samba, and specifically, a shoe based on the Samba from 1962. It’s that simple. Not that the Samba started life in 1962 – it has been around in some form since 1949. But 1962 is where Adidas wants to be with this reissue.
The green upper is matched up with what’s described as a ‘stacked’ leather sole, along with a smooth leather lining, reinforced toe and signature serrated 3-stripes. A couple of pairs of laces are thrown in too.
Like the leather version, this is a premium shoe that doesn’t come cheap. £165 is the asking price.
