Not wool like some out there, but these budget cable knit tennis sweaters at Uniqlo look decent value for the spring.
Of course, if this was a premium will finish the price would be jumping up. There are some nice long-sleeve merino wool cricket jumpers at Pellicano if you want something more substantial. But the cost of this is more substantial too.
Or you could go for one of these, which are typical of what Uniqlo does. Love them or loathe them, Uniqlo produces affordable classics and is always worth watching if you need something easy on the wallet.
In this case, it’s a sleeveless tennis vest or sweater (see also cricket sweater if you like), made predominantly from cotton and with a cable knit for the design, finished with a contrasting stripe on the collar.
As you can see, three options are available in terms of colour and if I’m honest, all appeal in their own way. But the beige is likely to be more popular amongst traditionalists.
A good preppy item that’s timeless in look and well worth the £24.90 price tag. Sizes are XXS through to XL and as I write, all sizes are available online.
