Not what I would expect from the retailer, but I do like the look of this Charlie cord jacket at Jump The Gun.
That’s not a criticism of Jump The Gun. Far from it. But like many people, I know the store as a ‘Mod’ shop and this jacket doesn’t obviously fit under that umbrella. That is a good thing as ‘Mod’ has drifted towards safe territory over recent years, focusing too much on the same old designs and labels. Pushing boundaries is always better.
Not that it’s a radical bit of boundary-pushing. This is still something of a retro number. But a jacket (if you want to call it a jacket) that would work for a lot of people at this time of year.
I am questioning the cord jacket tag because it has the look of an overshirt, although it leans more heavily towards jacket. A slightly longer version of a classic trucker jacket and with a slim fit too. So if slim isn’t your thing, size up.
Different finishes are available, but the thick cord works best compared to those other fabrics and finishes. Note also the two chest pockets, two side slash pockets at the front and of course, the button front.
All the sizes and a price for this cord jacket of £145.
