Some new colours have just appeared, so a great time to check out these check bomber jackets at Real Hoxton.
You probably already know the standard bomber jackets/monkey jackets from Real Hoxton, which are a well-priced and well-made alternative to the classic Fred Perry tennis bomber jacket. I’ve got one in navy blue, and it has served me well.
But more recently, the London-based Real Hoxton has introduced some bolder finishes and the jacket, and I’ll be honest, I’m here for them. They look pretty impressive. A touch of ivy league styling for a jacket that’s been popular over numerous decades and subcultures.
Yes, they are priced a little more than the plain shades, but I think it’s worth it.
The first on the shelves as a limited run was the citrus gingham, which was later joined by three takes on a madras check pus a couple of lighter check variations. All very much similar takes on a theme. It likely comes down to your choice of colour and contrasting detail.
The jacket itself is much like the rest of the maker’s range, with one key difference. So a jacket constructed from a 100% breathable cotton twill fabric with a colour-coordinated tonic lining to match the outer layer, signature Raglan sleeves, an inside pocket and a YKK zip.
That difference? These are limited runs and, according to Real Hoxton, are made in one batch only and will never be restocked. If you want one, they retail for £109 each.
