The cricket season is almost upon us, so it seems like a good time to talk about the classic cricket vests by Real Hoxton.
Mind you, that’s no guarantee of summy weather, so you might still need to wear one of these as a layer to keep warm. And when the cricket season does end, this might prove even more useful as the temperatures drop even more. But no matter when you wear it, you’ll look good in one.
And these do look good. The cricket jumper in mainstream fashion isn’t a new idea. If you have £200 spare, Lacoste will sell you one in its current range. If you don’t and happen to be looking for something sleeveless and far more affordable, have a look here.
Take your pick from three classic looks, the only difference being the choice of trim. I’ve absolutely no idea if the colours correspond to a particular club or country, but they look like they should. Feel free to correct me if you know more.
Each one is handmade from 100 per cent Pima cotton and is cable knitted with 4 gauge needles for ‘simultaneous warmth and ventilation’.
It’s just one of those things that’s great for slipping on when the temperatures drop, especially if you are going for an ivy league or preppy look.
And, as I said, cheaper than many out there, which is one of the ‘pulls’ of the Real Hoxton label. £80 in pretty much any size you want.
