A bit pricey when they first launched, but the Nigel Cabourn x De Marchi cycling range is now discounted, which certainly adds to the appeal.
I have covered De Marchi previously, focusing on its very cool range of vintage cycling jerseys. In fact, some of those are discounted too if you want a look, But right now I’m looking at a collaboration that’s well worth a couple of minutes of your time.
De Marchi teamed up with heritage giant Nigel Cabourn early this year, producing a collection of cycling clothing based on vintage De Marchi pieces from the mid-20th century, but reinterpreted by Nigel Cabourn rather than just being straight replicas.
You can see the result of the collaboration (or at least, some of it) on these very pages.
Working down the page you will see my personal favourite, the Nigel Cabourn X De Marchi Champions Jersey, replicating the jersey made by Elda De Marchi to celebrate Fausto Coppi’s victory at the 1953 World Cycling Championship in Lugano, Switzerland. It is available in three colour options and now down from €165 to €119.
The Nigel Cabourn X De Marchi Maglia Iridata is a roll neck based on training tops from the 1940s and 1950s, down €300 to €179. The Nigel Cabourn X De Marchi Brit Army Cycling Jersey is inspired by the first-ever zippered cycling jersey introduced by Emilio De Marchi in the early 50s and is down from €220 to €129.
The 1940s-inspired Nigel Cabourn X De Marchi Zip Thru Track Top is down from €286 to €199, and the Nigel Cabourn X De Marchi Zip Wool Knitted Jersey is a reworking of a classic that’s down from €200 to €119.
More designs too, although it’s worth noting that a couple of sizes have already sold out. But you can browse the full selection at the De Marchi website.
