Based on the a classic, the Engineered Garments military-style Highland Parka adds a bit of quality to the mix.
Designed by Daiki Suzuki and available in a choice of green or blue (I’m definitely in the ‘green’ camp), this US-made fishtail parka (which is pretty much what it is despite the name) is a double cloth cotton design and a great option for the autumn. This is what you want to be covered in when the rain comes down.
Packed with details too, including the drawstring hood, press stud and button closure, two front flap pockets, internal pockets, the drawstring fishtail hem and a substantial hood.
I know someone on social media will point out that you can get an army surplus fishtail parka cheaper and they would be right. I have one somewhere and barely wear it. Which is because reworks of the coat like this are of a much higher quality. In fact, even the versions in somewhere like Uniqlo look sharper than the old military coats. But it’s your choice.
Saying that, Engineering Garments is a premium label and you do pay a lot for it. £519 to get one of these in your life. But if you look after it, this is the kind of coat that will come out year after year.
