Fila Baranci retro track tops in Euro 2020 colours

Merchandise is often a pretty woeful thing, but I like the newly-launched Fila Baranci retro track tops in Euro 2020 colours.

 

It’s not a new idea. You might Fred Perry doing polo shirts in World Cup colours back in 2018. This is pretty much the same idea. But different clothing and different colours.

 

The headline says track tops, but it’s not the only thing on offer from Fila for the delayed tournament. Yes, it is still Euro 2020 despite it being 2021.

 

No, Fila also some nice retro ringer t-shirts as well as some polo shirts available too, again in nation colours of those participating in the tournament. I’ve picked out a couple of those further down the page as a taster, but you can see the full range at the website via those links.

 

But for me, the track tops are the most eye-catching designs. It’s not something you see every day and is based on a much-loved Fila classic.

 

The design is known as the Baranci and if it looks familiar, it’s perhaps that it has the look of the Settenta track top, which you might recall as being the track top of choice for Bjorn Borg in his heyday.

 

It’s a timeless retro jacket, one that’s made of a lightweight polyester twill (so ideal for the current weather), a zip front, the Fila logo, a couple of open slit pockets and a ribbed elasticated hem.

 

Yes, ideal for wearing as the tournament is in full flow, but unlike other merchandise, this can be worn far beyond that too. At the end of the day, it’s a classic track top. And there’s always room for one of those in the wardrobe.
