If you can’t afford the premium brand, have a look at the extra fine merino polo shirts at Uniqlo, which offer an affordable alternative.
Of course, by premium brand, I mean John Smedley, which has been making this type of top for longer than any of us have been alive. If you want the best, that’s where you will find it. But prices are high and for some, restrictively high.
There is an online John Smedley Outlet, which is well worth keeping a close eye on as prices drop heavily in there (although stock turns over quickly). But if you want something even more affordable, have a look at Uniqlo.
It has these three-button, long-sleeve polo shirts in four shades. I’d probably call them autumnal as this is the new stock for the autumn months. Not that there will be many left when we get to autumn. From past experience, these sell through quickly and for good reason.
They look good, they come in a wide range of sizes (XXS through to 3XL), they are made of premium 19.5-micron merino wool and they are made with a special finishing process that prevents ‘pilling’.
£34.90 each for the merino polo shirts in all the shades you see here.
