I love this. A new take on a classic with this sweatshirt-style matchday bomber jacket by Fred Perry.
Of course, you know the design this is based on. That’s the Fred Perry tennis bomber jacket from the 1950s, which is currently available in navy blue and black if you want the original. But that is a bulkier and perhaps more formal jacket.
This isn’t that jacket. This is a more casual take on it, taking the jacket down the sweatshirt route to great effect. Perfect for the time of year.
It’s described as a matchday classic (should you ever be allowed back into one) in a sweatshirt cloth, detailed with a zip front, embroidered branding and ribbed trims, with the collar and cuffs in red, white and blue against the red background. That’s right, this is only available in red as far as I can see. Some people will love the idea of that, others will run a mile. At the end of the day, it is all about personal taste.
Considerably cheaper than a tennis bomber at £119 if you want one, with the jacket/sweatshirt available in all sizes right now.
