Looking like something archive and something cycling-related is this vintage-style wool zip cardigan by Adidas.
The cycling thing is what jumps out at me. Some years back, the short-lived Solo label brought out the hugely popular wool cycling cardigans, promoted by imagery based on albums by The Jam and The Who. Sadly, that label came and went (although I still have a couple of unworn knits in storage somewhere).
These Adidas cardigans have a similar look and feel, albeit with different branding.
There are two cardigans available: a black with white detailing and a white with black detailing, both of which are pictured here. I like them both—they’re practical and with just a modest amount of old-school detail: the tipping to the collar, cuffs, and hem, as well as the vintage Adidas Trefoil logo. There seem to be subtle three-stripes on the arms, too, plus an Adidas tab on the zip.
Each one is 100 per cent wool in terms of construction, finished with a full zip front. It’s cold outside, so it’s a good time to launch. Although I suspect this would work well into spring as a layer or jacket.
Both are available from Hip in all sizes, selling for £130 each. Do check the size guide, though, as sometimes these things come up a little on the big side.
